Joseph Gallivan interviews Camden Murray of the Timbers Army about tifo displays
On Nov 12, 2103, Joseph Gallivan interviews Camden Murray, and artist and one of the designers of tifo [pronounced TEE-foe] at Portland Timbers soccer matches. Tifo displays use large banners, streamers, flares or other visuals to inspire the fan's chosen professional soccer team, and sometimes intimidate opponents and their fans. Murray will discuss the design and execution of Timbers Army tifos, the artistic rivalry with the Seattle Sounders, and talk about tifo's roots in Italy and its practice in Europe and South America.
Go Timbers!
