Jumping off with the anecdote of James Chasse, a conversation on police brutality and mental illness

Tune in Friday, Feb. 15, at 8 a.m. as hosts Ani and Lyn dive into mental health, police brutality and the life and death of Portland local James Chasse.  Ani and Lyn will be joined by Jason Renaud, a mental health advocate with The Mental Health Association of Portland, and Dan Handelman, the coordinator of Portland Copwatch.

We'll be talking about the incident that lead to the death of James Chasse, and the persistent issues of police abuse especially as it relates to people with mental illness. Alien Boy, a feature-length film about the life and death of James Chasse, is showing Friday night as part of the 36th Portland International Film Festival and later plays for a few days at Cinema 21.
