"Though Portland’s electronic music talent has tended toward hyphenate genre tags—electro-pop, electro-goth, indie-electronica—few producers have dedicated themselves to the creation of synthesizer-born rave fuel with quite the orthodox enthusiasm displayed by Chemical Channel. Absent lyrics, winking samples and the invasive influence of non-synthesized sounds, Chemical Channel’s tracks skirt the edges of trance, layering bleeping tones atop one another to form pulsing, sonic ziggurats."

Hi all -

I know summer’s not quite over, but for me it really is. I’ll be gone next week for the last road trip of the season, and then the following week, school starts and we all settle into a routine. Part of me is looking forward to it, but the other half will miss sleeping in late, basking in the sunshine, and general merriment. Fun show! Matt Keating (songwriter from NYC) was my co-host, and brought alot of great and interesting songs to the mix.

He also brought his guitar in and played the following songs live during the course of the show:

"Jacksonville" -- can be found on the album Tilt-A-Whirl

"Louisiana" -- can be found on last year's album Quixotic

"Daddy's On The Roof" -- off this year's Between Customers

"Amplifier" -- cover of a dB's song

"Better Than That" -- off the new album etween Customers.

In between we featured some musical tributes to some artists that have passed away recently: Duane Jarvis (guitarist from here in Portland), Les Paul (no introduction needed), and producer wunderkind Jim Dickinson.
