If these song titles look familiar, that's because they are. I've had friends and family ask about my show recently, so I thought the best way to sum it up is to take the best transitions from these first six shows, and put them all together. The result, hopefully, comes close to describing what it is that this show is about. I'd much rather categorize it that way, than to try and come up with some cute word or words to neatly categorize this show. Really, as much as I hate the show description on this website, it is pretty apt. '80s punk and new wave, new rock, and singer/songwriters.
Thanks very much for listening, for your calls, and for your requests. I appreciate them very much.

I should’ve know this would be a fun show when I pulled in front of
KBOO and was instantly dwarfed by two GIGANTOR tour buses belonging to
RZA and the Wu Tang Clan. Got some phone calls during the show, one guy
said he was calling from a convenience store that he was in the middle
of robbing, and then asked if KBOO needed some of the money. Yes, I
said, bring it on by! *SMIRK*
For next week’s show I’m going to pick the transitions i’m most
proud of so far, and assemble something that looks like a BEST OF. This
is normally something you do years down the line when the host has
taken ill, but I’m going to see my family over the 4th and they want to
know what my show sounds like.

A couple of music choices in this show were inspired by dreams I had last week.
In the first, I was wandering through a record store that looks
similar to the video store in the movie “Be Kind Rewind”. I was
wandering through the aisles, trying to get ideas for my radio show and
The Modern Lovers’ “Roadrunner” was playing over the store’s sound
system.
In the other dream, I was looking at some vinyl that a street dealer
was selling on the outskirts of a college campus. There were some Robyn
Hitchcock promos that I had never seen before (of course), but wouldn’t
you know…..I didn’t have any money. I would wager that this is a
standard dream for musicgeeks; running across rare or previously
unheard-of albums by favorite artists and not having any money, or
waking up before you get to hear the tracks or see the track titles.
*GRIN* Anyway, in response to this, I played a cut from my red vinyl
“Madonna Of The Wasps” promo 12″ single - a great spoken word bit from
Robyn. Why he hasn’t released an album of spoken word stuff, I DON’T
KNOW.

i played utah phillips tracks at 3, 4, and 5:xx am to honor this great wise man who passed away on friday night.

Johnny Indovina from Human Drama's new disc
I am hoping you'll add a track from the new disc by Johnny Indovina & Sound of the Blue Heart; I think it's a good fit for the show (I'm here in Portland).
Should I send you the cd?
Here's the links to sample some of the tracks:

Hope to hear from you soon,
