Short Description:
Ubu Membership Special

The Ubu Membership special.. though what's so special about it, is beyond me. Sure there's yet another episode of The City That Once Worked and a spoof about what one drinks at a Tea Party meeting, and some old play that Sudden Radio Project rejected, but probably the low point is the bit where Richard Francis and a couple friends tell big penis jokes.  Is this the best the Ubu Hour can do?  Why does valuable radio time have to be taken up by this inane drivial? Maybe someone will feel sorry for these pathetic people and donate money to the station.

YES, IT'S THE FABULOUS UBU MEMBERSHIP SPECIAL! LAUGHS, THRILLS AND MORE!

The NEW UBU

Has the Ubu Hour fallen in a rut in recent months, relying on movie cut-ups, tired sequals, and re-runs of
old programs? Tonight we change all that as we bring you THE NEW UBU with two new radio programs.

DOUCHE-LAND UBU ALICE
A two part piece about the Ubu's attempt to finish a new script about a man trapped in a room with a voice that tries to convince him to kill himself. Or maybe it's about something else instead.

OUR LITTLE MAYOR PART 20
Another tale of the abuse and misuse of power in Portland, as the Ubu Hour gets taken over by outside forces in the aftermath of a previous contraversy. Or maybe it's about something else...

audio drama, Reverend Pirkle warns us of how Communism plans to take over America,
or maybe, with the Obama presidency, they already have! The Pelosi socialized helath
care nightmare is only the next step! This audio drama, based on true facts, will
wake you up to the evils of socialism, and give you important advice on how to
get America back on the right path. Otherwise in the next 24 months we'll all be
forced to chant for 17 hours a day: "COMMUNISM IS GOODD! CHRISTIANITY IS STUPID!"

Before the Ubu Hour, there was a play by Alfred Jarry called Ubu Roi. In the summer of 2001, we turned this into an audio drama for KBOO's 2001 Dada & Surrealism festival, and then over a year after the dust settled, the Ubu Hour was born...
