Aba Gayle was Ruth's guest. She told the story of Maurice Bickham, an African American, born in 1917, served 38 years and is now an ordained minister. He was from the era of  Jim Crow laws, convicted of shooting two white law men, had his execution date set seven times, but was eventually released in 1996. An exclusive interview with California death row prisoner Kevin Cooper. Cooper is on death row in San Quentin prison. He was convicted of the 1983 murder of three members of one family and their houseguest. Last week a federal appeals court judge warned California that the state might execute an innocent man if it decides to put Kevin Cooper to death. Cooper was denied a hearing by a panel of appeals court judges. They were critical of the handling of Cooper's case by the trial judge, but still denied him a rehearing. Panel member Judge William Fletcher wrote a scathing dissent to the decision.

Dave, the baker of Dave’s Killer Bread talked about his life and the bread business.
