Arresting Power: Resisting Police Violence in Portland, Oregon uses archival materials, documentary footage and interviews with community members, activists and organizers to uncover Portland’s unique history of policing and race relations, emphasizing its rich history of resistance from the late 1960s to the present.
The Portland Mercury, along with the Willamette Week and the Oregonian, took a position against Measure 92, the ballot measure which would require labeling of genetically modified foods. On Monday, Oct. 27, KBOO's Paul Roland spoke with Dennis Theriault, News Editor of the Portland Mercury about his paper's position, as well as Julia Degraw, of Oregon Right to Know and Food and Water Watch.
