On the opening night, there was only a big white, bare canvas, a couple of rockers lined up as if they were to view the ocean, some small ink drawings and signs of preparation and anticipation.

The appointment of Multnomah County Chair Ted Wheeler as state treasurer last Tuesday churned county and state political waters this week. Wheeler, appointed by Governor Kulongoski to fill the vacancy created by State Treasurer Ben Westlund's death, is now better positioned to advance up the ladder of statewide offices. At the county level, meanwhile, his departure has set off a scramble for his and County Commissioner Jeff Cogen's seat - Cogen throwing his hat in the ring to be the county's top executive. Do not see this movie! Review of "Remember Me" opening today (March 12)

Remember Me
Director: Allen Coulter
With: Robert Pattinson, Emilie de Ravin, Chris Cooper, Pierce Brosnan, Tate Ellington, et al.

I can’t stress strongly enough that you do not see this awful movie.  I will gladly spoil the vile ending on this shameless piece of crap.  The writer, Will Fetters, and the director, Allen Coulter, should be ashamed of themselves.  This movie exploits human misery for a cheap soap-opera of a story, including the worst mass murder in US history.

Morgan Brent on the "Sylvapolitan" -- a being in tune with nature

program:
Recovery Zone
program date:
Thu, 06/01/2006

In June, 2006, Stephanie Potter spoke with Morgan Brent about developing a way of life devoted to the cultivation of our humanness in conscious, respectful, and free flowing dialogue with the natural world. According to Brent, one so integrated into the sylvan cosmos, the society of Nature, is known as a sylvapolitan. Brent teaches that the sylvapolitan is educated via self-transformation (knowing something by becoming it), accultured into a spiritual ecology and its manifestations in natural ecosystems, and pro-active in the Program of spiritual evolution.  Morgan Brent is founder of Tribes of Creation and leads workshops throughout the Northwest.
