 Mike Snedeker and Jan Haaken talk about a new report by the Equal Justice Initiative-- Lynching in America: Confronting the Legacy of Racial Terror. The report, available online, documents EJI’s multi-year investigation into lynching in twelve Southern states during the period between Reconstruction and World War II. It demonstrates that capital punishment was a rationalized form of lynching, sharing the purpose of maintaining African americans in the condition of serfdom.

Brian Malte is the National Policy Director for the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence and the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence.  Both were started after former Reagan press secretary James Brady was shot and severely wounded by gunman John Hinkley in 1981.  March 30th will the the anniversary of that assassination attempt on the President, and Mr. Malte talked with Don Merrill about how there aren't as many federal gun laws as opponents like to claim,  if fears of insurrection are behind opponent's fight against gun restrictions and the real story behind green tipped ammo.

Oregon Senate Hears Testimony on Right to Rest
