Tonight Talking Earth will have the Tall Men poetry group, Steve Williams, Jon Seaman, Shawn Sorrenson and Dave Jarecki, on to read and workshop their verse.  Patrick Bocarde will host, and ask a lot of tall questions.

Steve Williams works and lives in Portland, Oregon. Together with his partner, poet Constance Hall, he hosts a reading series at In Other Words bookstore.
Jon Seaman is an award winning poet and an advocate for heathcare reform, chronic kidney disease, organ donation and organ transplants.
Shawn Sorrenson won first place in the Oregon State Poetry Association's Spring 2009 contest, New Poets category for his poem "The Yard."
Dave Jarecki writes fiction, non-fiction and poetry, and teaches workshops throughout the area. His recent work has appeared in Rattle, Cloudbank Literary Magazine, and Crab Creek Review (forthcoming).

who is the author on monday 11/9/09's program?

Cutthroat Trout

I hiked in to the lake by the bear wallow and caught a 16" Cutthroat Trout.

my dad; Bill Witherup

I want to thank you for the air-time & thought given my dad on tonights progam. I am his oldest daughter, living in San Jose. My aunt sent me the info about your program tonight. I am at a loss for words, but feel I had to express my appreciation.
My dads departure was sudden and painful for me. I had not seen him in almost 15 yrs., and visiting to say a final farewell has had an impact on my life. I remember James McGrath, if only vaguely, the last I remember seeing him was 40+ yrs. ago. His poem that he wrote & read for my dad brought me to tears... I am still in awe and amazement over my dad. The continuous warmth, regard, and appreciation that follows him is awesome !!
He was and still is an incredible guy. I do miss him so...

Talking Earth 8/18

This was a very wonderful show--who was the lad that was reading at 10:40? He was great!
