Original Practice Shakespeare starts a wave of Shakespeare in Portland. Brian Allard, Noah Goldenberg and Clara Hillier of OPS joins Dmae Roberts live in the studio to talk about their upcoming free performances of As You Like It and Romeo & Juliet throughout the Portland area. We'll also hear a short piece about multiracial artists for the upcoming Loving Day on June 10th, a celebration of mixed race families around the country.

Bouand Dance Company + feature on a Hawaiian youth's love of 'Aina'

Dmae talks with Alex Ballard and Davy Brun of the Bouand Dance Company. This Portland company presents contemporary European classical dance. The company is gearing up for a new concert June 1 & 2 at BodVox Dance Center. And in the last part of the show, we hear about a Hawaiian youth who has a great love of ‘Aina or the land as he strives to carry on his family’s farming tradition.

Dmae Roberts presents a membership drive edition of Stage & Studio featuring Olga Sanchez of Miracle Theatre. She starring in a daring new play based on the Greek myth Oedipus in Oedipus El Ray.

With Chicano swagger and sly sense of humor, Luis Alfaro transports Sophocles’ tragedy to the mean streets of East L.A. Here Oedipus does hard time for ripping off a Costco, Jocasta splashes on the Jean Naté while glued to “All My Children” and the oracle takes cash only. But the word on the street is not good and the passion Oedipus has for one woman will violate our most sacred law.

A personal memorial for Dmae's mom.

Join Dmae Roberts for a special radio memorial on the 10th anniversary of her mom's death. Remembrance: On Time And Distance is part memoir and a collection of radio pieces she's produced about the complex ties that bind a mother and daughter.

For Remembrance: On Time And Distance, Dmae presents excerpts from Mei Mei and The Journey of Lady Buddha. She recounts her weekend trip to Taiwan to rescue her mom when she fell ill and plays her piece Messages from the phone messages she saved while taking care of her mom in her final years.

Don Horn of Triangle Productions' new play on PDX luminary + sound piece by artist Linda Hutchins

With three books and a new musical called Gracie, Triangle Productions' Don Horn is making sure that Gracie Hansen won't be forgotten. Best known as the "Queen" of the '62 Seattle World's Fair, Hansen ran the Roaring 20's Room in Portland for five years, before taking a stab at running for governor of Oregon. We'll talk with Horn and Julianna Jaffe who's portraying Gracie Hansen.

Healing through art with Well Arts Institute, an 11-year-old nonprofit theatre that focuses on people with physical or mental illness and pairs them with actors to perform their stories. Dmae Roberts features the 8th Annual Hearing Voices Storytelling Festival  in Hillsboro and talks with organizer Heather Waisanen and Oregon storyteller Leslie Slape. In the second part of the show, she features an opera based on the tragic life of French sculptor Camille Claudel and her love affair with Rodin.
