The 14th Annual Homelessness Marathon

The 14th Annual Homelessness Marathon will originate from Kansas City, MO, starting at 4 p.m., Pacific Time, on the evening of February 23, 2011, and ending at 6 a.m., Pacific, on the morning of February 24th. The hosts on the ground will be Care of Poor People, Inc. and Hope Faith Ministries.

The Marathon will originate from the Hope Faith site at 705 Virginia Ave. in KC. Our hosts on the air will be Kansas City's 100,000 watt community radio station, KKFI. The on-air host is "Nobody."

We are broadcasting the marathon live on KBOO-FM. We are also offering a streaming video option.

His talk was recorded and produced by Roberta Hall, host of Health and Healthcare Forum.   According to Dietz, in a steady-state economy, energy and resource use are reduced to a level that is within ecological limits and the goal of maximizing GDP is replaced by the goal of maximizing quality of life.

Per Fagereng interviewed Raed Jarrar about the new Bush-Malaki agreement and more.  Jarrar, who was born and raised in Iraq, is Iraq consultant for the American Friends Service Committee.

He says: "While the agreement gives lip service to protecting Iraqi sovereignty and democracy, it in fact undermines these very things. It is a major step in the attempt to make permanent U.S. domination of Iraq, thus undermining any real sovereignty. And it attempts to circumvent any democratic process whereby the Iraqi people or parliament have a say over agreements like this.
