Our message to the Democratic Party -- these are our issues

Let's send a message to the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte -- listeners what issues are you dealing with in your life right now? Call us up and share your story and I'll send the podcast of this show to Oregon Democratic Party delegates, every member of the Oregon Congressional delegation and our senators too, and I'll tweet it to the president. By the end of today.

Coal trains in St Johns? Kids school closures? How about your student debt? Is your child incarcerated? Is your health plan cutting back on mental health care? Do you have housing? What is impacting your life right now that should be a topic of discussion in the upcoming elections -- and is your issue on their agenda or not? LET'S PUT IT THERE.

The Abe and Joe Talk Radio Show on 09/04/12

Air date:
Tue, 09/04/2012 - 8:00am - 9:00am
Short Description:
Abe and Joe look back on the GOP convention.

The first of the election season clown conventions is over. The Republicans have concluded their ceremonies in Florida, and anointed this year's version of The Next Guy in Line -- Mitt Romney. And to no one's surprise, the GOP platform is built from the time-honored planks of tax cuts, misogyny, guns, deregulation, xenophobia, nationalism, spending cuts, patriarchy, piety, fear, anger, and deification of the rich and powerful.

But this time around, something strange is in the air. Republicans have a dubious relationship with reality, we all know this -- but depth of this year's GOP mendacity has even drawn the attention of the mainstream news media. Are journalists, at long last, deciding to be reporters instead of stenographers? Will this be the year when they finally decide to call out the liars?
