This week on the Digital Divide, Suzanne LaGrande talks with write, editor and co-founder of the Publication Studio, Matthew Stadler.

In 2009, Matthew Stadler and Patricia No founded the Publication Studio in a storefront in downtown Portland. They are a print-on0demand publisher that prints and binds books by hand. In two years they've published close to 150 books and now has seven "sibling studios" producing original books in Berkeley, CA, Vancouver, BC, Canada, Chicago, IL, Los Angeles, CA, Boston, MA, and Bordeaux, FR.

Mr. Stadler talks about the Publication Studio's DIY publishing strategies, the social life of the book, and the importance of creating public conversations.

Poets Judith Barrington and Janice Gould  read their poems and talk with host Barbara LaMorticella about their journey into their authentic lives and voices on Monday night December 19 from 10-11 PM. Judith is a poet, memoirist and teacher who was born in Brighton England and moved to the U.S. in 1976, where she settled in Portland, Oregon. With her partner,  Ruth Gundle, she has been a pillar of the women’s writing committee in the Northwest and across the nation. Janice Gould is a poet and teacher of Maidu/Konkow descent.
