Ubu Hour on 02/07/11

Program:
Ubu Hour
Air date:
Mon, 02/07/2011 - 11:00pm - Tue, 02/08/2011 - 12:00am
Short Description:
Ubu and the Arizona Shooting

Whereas others have used the recent shootings in Arizona as a time of mourning and reflection, the UBU HOUR uses this tragic event for totally crass and offensive satire... Tonight we present two "high caliber" audio dramas that "target" themes around what happened that day in Arizona .

A new episode of The CITY THAT ONCE WORKED "takes aim" with more local political satire, through the "target scope" of the Arizona event, as local politicians, FBI agents and hipsters are put in the "crosshairs."

Gremlin Time presents a story of feline cunning.

program:
Gremlin Time
program date:
Mon, 01/17/2011

We present 'How a Cat Played Robinson Crusoe', by  Charles G.D. Roberts. Accidentally stranded on an off shore, barrier island, a cat must use all her hunting skills and feline cunning to survive the coming winter. But her situation worses as first a large storm brings an invasion of rats. And, as winter snows cover the island, owls from the mainland make nightly hunting sorties.  Read by Rose Noir

THE MELTING POT - FREE DOWNLOAD of the WEEK 1

Forward is not just a direction, it's a way of life for Colorado based producer Alex B who is rolling out big tunes under the new guise of Paper Diamond. The new project finds the trusted producer moving into previously untraveled musical territory. The Paper Diamond sound has raw energy and the kind of dramatic anticipation only a seasoned producer can incite. Driving beats and bass grab on tight while deep, rich tones rumble under layers of spacey synthesizers, sweet melodies, and catchy vocals. One thing is for sure. The energy is high.

Golden Oldies Intro

program:
Ubu Hour
program date:
Mon, 01/03/2011

The intro to this month's Ubu Hour... dedacated to all that radio brings.. golden oldies, classic rock, talk radio and all the other stuff meant to put you in a comfortable place so other voices can try to sell you something. Sure this is only an "intro" to the show, but it's 10-minutes long and gives one a good idea about how low the Ubu Hour is willing to go in an effort to be different but really not being different at all.
