For November, we like to present a live program, and this year Professor Ginger Kitty will join Fortunato at the studio as we present two stories from the work of magical realist writer Jorge Luis Borges.First we'll present "The Improbable Impostor Tom Castro", from his first collection of stories A Universal History of Iniquity (1935). And from his final collection, Shakespeare's Memory (1983), we will read "Blue Tigers". Professor Kitty, member of the English Department of Cortland University, Cortland New York, will also explain to us what constitutes the genre of magical realism.
KBOO has been with Occupy Portland from the very beginning. Since there is so much overlap in issues of concern and advocacy it is only natural that there should be such a strong bond. We are dedicated to strengthening that bond and seeing the dreams of justice, equality, and government that truly represents the people come to be!
