Javier Nero was a guest on the August Edition of Youth Randomonium. He was interviewed by Estelle, and also performed live.

Javier Nero, 20, is an accomplished trombonist, composer and arranger emerging from the Pacific Northwest. While in high school Javier seized the competition on a national level being awarded: Soloist awards at the Mt Hood, Clark, Monterey, North Texas, Clackamas, and Willamette High School Jazz Festivals. Javier was selected as lead trombonist in both All-State and All-Northwest Jazz Ensembles.

as Dave Lifton is taking some time off.

 

Today (WED 8/25) will feature a look back

at Abbey Lincoln; tune Origins and Inspirations

(once known as Cool (KKUL) Double Plays,

and will include some R&B classics), and a

musical look at an upcoming Dynamite weekend

at local festivals and clubs.

as David Lifton is taking a week off.

 

WED 8/25 will feature tune Origins and Inspirations,

including some R&B,

and a look and listen at the full life led by Abbey Lincoln.

We'll close with a musical preview of a "loaded"

Friday night local lineup including Robert Moore

at the Vancouver Wine and Jazz Festival,

and Mike Winkle/Gordon Lee downtown afterwards.

 

WED 9/1 will reprise The Basically Basie Program -

all Basie from 2 to 3 p.m.  Ed Bennett will be my guest,

as our usual shift to our wonderfully talented

Portland-area musicians takes over from 3 to 4 p.m.
