Air date:
Fri, 02/11/2011 - 1:30pm - 3:00pm
Short Description:
Spotlight on Tim Buckley, with friend and lyricist Larry Beckett.

Today, The Songcircle celebrates the life and legacy of the great Tim Buckley. This coming Monday, Valentine's Day, is the 64th anniversary of his birth. We're pleased to be joined by Buckley's lifelong friend and frequent lyrical collaborator, Larry Beckett, to "count down" what the two men agreed at some time before Buckley's death in 1975 to be their ten favorite compositions from their repertoire. Beckett will share stories about their friendship and creative relationship, and read an original poem. We'll also feature tracks from the brand-new, limited-edition reissue of Buckley's self-titled debut album, which includes a bonus disc of early recordings by Buckley's and Beckett's high-school band, The Bohemians.
