Joe Carducci presents a memorial to David Lightbourne

Joe Carducci guest hosts a tribute to David Lightbourne.

David Lightbourne, 1942-2010, was an American folk musician and sometime-writer who, together with other counterculture mystagogues, was part of a scene coalescing in Portland in the 1970s. Using elements of their country's traditional music, they concocted their own strange breakthrough brew. David died on April 29th.

David was also a KBOO DJ, and got Joe on the air in the late 70's. The tribute will include live performances.

program date:
Mon, 07/12/2010

Today's show ran the gamut from water conservation to oily devastation to the double-edge of postmodern autonomy, with a final romp by our Movie Moles through the Ozarks. Our host, Clayton Morgareidge, selected some bluegrass music to accent the plight of those who just want some "Cool Water," and of those in "Moneyland."

Below are links to the individual segments [in progress], and below those the whole show including transitions.

1. Bill Resnick interviews James Workman about water democratization and what we can learn from African Bushmen.
