Out Loud

Out Loud is retiring - but Queer programming continues on KBOO

We have four new Queer shows that we’ve selected to be on KBOO, starting in September 2015!

1st Tuesday of the month – LGBTQArt – hosted by Ashley
2nd Tuesday  - Preference – hosted by Alan Silver
3rd Tuesday - Darion and Justin host QTPOCTalk
4th Tuesday – Bobby,Thomas and Gordon host Prism PDX

KBOO is proud of our long-time support of programming serving and featuring the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning communities. A handful of LGBTQ focused shows have aired over the years, including Queer Queer World, Gender Blender, The Other Team and most recently Out Loud, which began airing in April 2002.

Out Loud was created by a collective of volunteers and has been created by many volunteers over the 13 years it has been on KBOO. Out Loud is retiring in June, and while we prepare to say good bye to Out Loud, we welcome the opportunity for new programs to continue airing in Out Loud's time slot, which is every Tuesday from 6pm - 7 pm, after KBOO's evening news and before Hard Knock Radio.

KBOO always welcomes new show proposals serving and focusing on the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning communities. The Program Proposal form can be found on the KBOO website at: http://kboo.fm/volunteer/program-app

To meet KBOO's mission and strategic plan, people from under-represented groups are encouraged to submit proposals.  Program proposals need to fit the current format of the News and Public Affairs time frame (ie. not a music show).

Out Loud's last show was June 9th, 2015.

Thanks to everyone who has supported queer programming on KBOO through the years - and we look forward to new and exciting developments in this area in the months and years to come. Stay tuned!

Out Loud is KBOO's queer culture radio show, celebrating & serving the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning & allied communities. We feature interviews with community groups, authors, musical talent, and anyone from the queer & allied communities. We strive to give voice to those not heard in the main stream media.

Out Loud is a community created radio show and everyone involved is a volunteer. Please consider joining us! Email us if you have any questions, or even if you just want to say 'Hi!'

Interview with Chris Delyani and his new book You Are Here.

"All Peter Bankston ever wanted to do was paint.

An aspiring painter, Peter scratches out a pauper's living in San Francisco, wanting nothing more than to be left alone. Instead, he finds himself getting involved with not one but two very different men.

Like Peter, getting involved with another man is the last thing on Nick Katsaris's mind. Smart, handsome, and good-humored, Nick's done more than just survive-he's positively thriving in San Francisco. But when he meets Peter, what begins as fun and games quickly turns into a game he can't control."
