Every other Wednesday, alternating with David Lifton's "A Jazz World".

Bob Riddle is continuing the 25-year KBOO tradition established by the late Jim Andrews, in Jim's spirit:  the very best in jazz music, from the historical to the present. 

A jazz artist or musical theme is showcased from 2 to 3 p.m.  Our wealth of Portland-area-resident musicians is our focus from 3 to 4 p.m with "Jazz Current Events" Jazz Calendar.

We'll play memorials to 3 gentlemen of jazz recently lost.
Charlie Haden will swing. Paul Horn will play "old age" (not new age).
Horace Silver will treat us to his musical philosophy:
"I personally do not believe in politics, hatred, or anger in my musical composition.
Musical composition should bring happiness and joy to people
and make them forget their troubles."

The show will wrap up with a preview of this weekend's
Cathedral Park Jazz Festival - the 34th annual.
Arthur Marx of the Jazz Society of Oregon,
who is keeping this largest free jazz festival in the west alive,
will be our guest.
