Dear Listeners,

Got my Spring Cleaning done at home this past weekend.  Yeah, I know, we're well into Fall now.  Well, the joke's on you, cuz I meant I just finished my Spring Cleaning..........from 2012....

Who'd've thunk that I'd find a couple of songs that touch on the cleanin' theme?  I do hope you have a chance to catch the cute lyrics of "Dust," "Clean," and "Soup's On."  Nothing like some good clean fun early in the morning....!

My next show will fall during KBOO's Fall Membership Drive.  I would much appreciate your support during this timeslot on Monday, October 6.

Dear Listeners,

My goodness!  My ears are positively AWASH in good music!  There are live performances on every corner and in every nook and cranny, at nearly every moment of every day.  We are in the absolute PEAK of outdoor concerts and festivals and they just keep getting better and better.  From fun groups jamming at farmers markets to concerts at wineries along rivers to festivals in the forest to mega-concerts out in the middle of the Columbian Gorge:  what would life be without all this sweet sunshine and super sounds?  We are so lucky....

Dear Listeners,

It was great to see so many of you at the Pickathon this weekend--you were looking good!  And the music.  THE MUSIC!!!! Wow, weren't those bands great?!?!  The whole festival was just wonderful:  the scenery, the food, the beer, the kindness and generosity of everyone there, the cool water spritzes, the volunteers, the legions of happy kids, the garb, the vibe, the cheery bright skies, the tents (EVERYWHERE!), the lights, and the music.  It was an unforgettable experience......let's go again next year!

Dear Listeners,

If you are still drying off from all that swimming you got in over the lovely summer weekend, then I hope you enjoyed all the nautical songs that started today's program off.  Cute, eh?!?!  And of course you know (if you've been listening for a while) that I'll be bringing you more Dave Matthews--mostly unplugged--over the coming weeks in the run-up to the big DMB Labor Day weekend concerts at the Gorge Ampitheatre.  Hoo-boy, that will be fun!

But first comes the Pickathon.  Yup, that's this might see about getting a ticket cuz that, too, is an extraordinary weekend of music.

It was great to bring you some new music this morning from the talented Aireene Espiritu. Carrie Elkin and Danny Schmidt, and Mary Flower.  Keep listening to be the first to hear the best!

Dear Listeners,

Gosh, I hope you made it to at least some of the wonderful Blues Festival this past long weekend!  So much good music and such a well-run festival.  Even Mother Nature contributed to the whole affair by sending us perfect weather.  Ah yes....

It was a thrill for me to meet Mr. Leo Welch.....and to bring you a sample of his sound on my show this morning.  He's a sprightly 82-year-old, Deep South bluesman.....whose first CD ever was recorded when he was an even more sprightly 81!

It was also lovely to see Mary Flower there and to hear that she JUST came out with a new CD......which is being debuted this morning on Folk Espresso.

Have fun with all this great music!

Dear Listeners,

You are some of the smartest people I know.  Even if I don't actually "know" you.  But just the fact that you're taking advantage of great music first thing in the morning, joyful music, meaningful music, played by musicians with talent up to their eyeballs, well, that tells me you're full of wisdom up to YOUR eyeballs.  This is the nicest way to begin a day.

Thank you for listening.  Thank you for being brilliant.

Musically yours,

Regards from Puerto Rico I got my Outlook reminder for 9:30am local time and thanks to Diane, I'll be a first time listener today. Look forward to today's program.

Great week to all!

Kind Regards,

let's hear some Fruition!

re: new music

Hey there - I love this show, can't really get by without it!

I want to just share some music I really think could be included here, if you haven't heard:

Eddi Reader - formerly with Fairground Attraction, legendary Scottish singer whose Songs of Robert Burns changed the way people heard these songs and established her as living treasure in Scotland. Her new album Love is the Way is gaining raves in the UK. - you can hear some samples.

Kate Rusby - probably Britain's most important young folk singer - Awkward Annie is her most recent album and astonishing since she writes most of the material herself. Chris Thile and Eddi Reader are both featured artists on the album.

It would be wonderful to see them here in the US, but just getting them on the radio would be a start!

Thanks and keep up the awesome music!

Doug Smith

Hi Diane,

I'm listening to your show and was pleasantly surprised to hear our pal, Doug, doing "Anything Goes". I'll have to tell him he got some airtime when I see him next. Your voice sounds great on the air and your playlist rocks! Keep up the very good work, my friend! Tell the management they need to give you a raise.

Diane Hunt

This is Randy from Colorado, and I *loved* the show! Quirky mix of music is just right to start my day out right. Diane, when are you going to teach me how to contra dance?

Thank You

Dear Randy,

Yikes! Only today did I see your kind email from September 22 that you left on the KBOO website. I wasn't expecting any "fan mail" here at so I didn't thing to check...until a friend told me about the hundreds, nay, thousands of emails piling up at this website all about my show. Oddly enough, only one (yours) was positive. All the others said something to the effect of "what the *&^!%&# is SHE doing on this venerable radio station!"

That's ok.

I can take it.

So, Mr. Randy, you liked my quirky music? Hope you heard my show yesterday morning (October 27). It, too, was filled with a wide variety of, uh, good stuff. I'm on again on Monday, November 24th. I do hope you'll tune in. I'll play a randy tune, just for you.

I'm pretty big into contradancing, so I have made it my mission to play at least one contra tune each show. Next time you swing through P-Town, I'll give you a lesson. You won't ever be the same again...

Um, is this my friend who goes by the name of Randy in Colorado? You know, the Randy with the beautiful wife and the two red-headed kids? If so, thanks, my friend. If not, you, stranger Randy, have just finaigled yourself into the most elite fan club on Earth...

Warm regards,
Diane Hunt, DJ
