Dear Listeners,

It's such a thrill to do a show of Christmas music for you.  We threw in a few old standards (Charlie Brown, anyone?) and then spiced things up a bit with some sweet pieces that you may never have heard before.  And of course we had to have some fun with a couple of humorous tunes, including my favorite, "When You're Single at Christmastime."   The "we" this morning has been me and my mom, visiting from South Carolina.  Good music and a mom here for the holidays:  I'm a lucky girl.

Wishing you a merry musical Christmas,
Diane and Mom

Dear Listeners,

2014.  Yup, 2014!  The music I'm bringing you this morning is all from 2014 releases.  Nuthin' but fresh, new tracks from creative, talented auditory artists.  The reasoning behind an All-2014 show?  Well, how 'bout putting one or two of these under a Christmas tree for a sweetie, a friend, a co-worker, a neighbor, a sister, aunt, or niece, or maybe your bocce ball buddy!  They'll love you for it......not to mention how happy the auditory artists will be.....

See you here NEXT Monday with a special guest and a special show....

Musically yours,

Dear Listeners,

Welcome to December!  Do you need to pick up some Christmas gifts?  Well, everyone loves music.  And heck, if someone you doesn't, it's your duty to change that.  Find something they WILL love--it ain't that hard.  Support your hard-workin' auditory artists!

Annual Gales of November Show

Hosts: Jonathan Lay, Gordy Euler, and Jack Bohl

We've been doing thisd Novemeber special for quite a few years now. Gales of November is from a line in Gordon Lightfoots' immortal classic "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald", referring to the stiorms that often beseige the Great Lakes in November. We feature songs about ship[wrecks, the Great Lakes, lighthouses, mermaids, and general nautical mirth and mayhem.

Dear Listeners,

I had so much fun last week bringing you so much new music from so many terrific musicians whom I had the pleasure of hearing throughout so many wee hours that I decided to do it again this week.  So this morning, another 90 minutes of sounds gathered from the Folk Alliance conference back in October.

Remember:  support your local musicians....and in this case, "local" is anywhere from the Western provinces of Canada down to San Diego!

Dear Listeners,

Each fall in a West Coast city a three-day conference called FAR-West takes place.  This year it was in Oakland...and I managed to get myself down there for it.  The event is part of the big organization called Folk Alliance, so the weekend drew hundreds of folk musicians.  There they showcase their music (it's pretty much nonstop music for three days) and those who would book these artists and play them on the air get to know them and their talent.  So that's what I'm bringing you this morning:  tons of good music from new, up-and-coming musicians.  You'll hear more from them in coming shows!

Dear Listeners,

Got my Spring Cleaning done at home this past weekend.  Yeah, I know, we're well into Fall now.  Well, the joke's on you, cuz I meant I just finished my Spring Cleaning..........from 2012....

Who'd've thunk that I'd find a couple of songs that touch on the cleanin' theme?  I do hope you have a chance to catch the cute lyrics of "Dust," "Clean," and "Soup's On."  Nothing like some good clean fun early in the morning....!

My next show will fall during KBOO's Fall Membership Drive.  I would much appreciate your support during this timeslot on Monday, October 6.

Musically yours,

Regards from Puerto Rico I got my Outlook reminder for 9:30am local time and thanks to Diane, I'll be a first time listener today. Look forward to today's program.

Great week to all!

Kind Regards,

let's hear some Fruition!

re: new music

Hey there - I love this show, can't really get by without it!

I want to just share some music I really think could be included here, if you haven't heard:

Eddi Reader - formerly with Fairground Attraction, legendary Scottish singer whose Songs of Robert Burns changed the way people heard these songs and established her as living treasure in Scotland. Her new album Love is the Way is gaining raves in the UK. - you can hear some samples.

Kate Rusby - probably Britain's most important young folk singer - Awkward Annie is her most recent album and astonishing since she writes most of the material herself. Chris Thile and Eddi Reader are both featured artists on the album.

It would be wonderful to see them here in the US, but just getting them on the radio would be a start!

Thanks and keep up the awesome music!

Doug Smith

Hi Diane,

I'm listening to your show and was pleasantly surprised to hear our pal, Doug, doing "Anything Goes". I'll have to tell him he got some airtime when I see him next. Your voice sounds great on the air and your playlist rocks! Keep up the very good work, my friend! Tell the management they need to give you a raise.

Diane Hunt

This is Randy from Colorado, and I *loved* the show! Quirky mix of music is just right to start my day out right. Diane, when are you going to teach me how to contra dance?

Thank You

Dear Randy,

Yikes! Only today did I see your kind email from September 22 that you left on the KBOO website. I wasn't expecting any "fan mail" here at so I didn't thing to check...until a friend told me about the hundreds, nay, thousands of emails piling up at this website all about my show. Oddly enough, only one (yours) was positive. All the others said something to the effect of "what the *&^!%&# is SHE doing on this venerable radio station!"

That's ok.

I can take it.

So, Mr. Randy, you liked my quirky music? Hope you heard my show yesterday morning (October 27). It, too, was filled with a wide variety of, uh, good stuff. I'm on again on Monday, November 24th. I do hope you'll tune in. I'll play a randy tune, just for you.

I'm pretty big into contradancing, so I have made it my mission to play at least one contra tune each show. Next time you swing through P-Town, I'll give you a lesson. You won't ever be the same again...

Um, is this my friend who goes by the name of Randy in Colorado? You know, the Randy with the beautiful wife and the two red-headed kids? If so, thanks, my friend. If not, you, stranger Randy, have just finaigled yourself into the most elite fan club on Earth...

Warm regards,
Diane Hunt, DJ
