Dear Listeners,
Sorry about my voice--or lack thereof--this morning. Just a touch of laryngitis. I sure appreciate all your calls of concern--KBOO listeners are the best. Thankfully, my throat doesn't hurt--it just sounds awful. Hey, that gave me a reason to play even more good music than normal! I hope you enjoyed the show.
Musically yours,
Diane

ANNUAL GALES OF NOVEMBER SHOW
Hosts: Jack Bohl, Jonathan Lay, and Gordy Euler
The Witch of November comes stealin' in the Great Lakes in November, so around the anniversary of the 1975 Great November Gale that sank the Great Lakes freighter Edmund Fitzgerald, immortalized by Gordon Lightfoot, we play songs about shipwrecks and Great Lakes and Pacific NW nautical lore- plus songs about pirates, mermaids, lighthouses, and other nautical mayhem.

But at exactly the right moment, am flinging you right back into bed with the raucous and racy and jaunty tune from John Prine. And get a kick outta the lyrics of "Let the World Wait" from local singer-songwriter, Lyman Louis--too cute!
Ah yes, another perfect way to start a day of facing the big ole world...
See you back here on October 22!

Nope, it's not Saint Valentine's Day, but people everywhere are falling in love and gettin' married, so today's program is for them.* I must say, it was a kick in the pants to put this one together. The world would be A-OK everyday if there were even more mushy lovey-dovey songs out there....and people diggin' 'em!
Someday.

re: new music
Hey there - I love this show, can't really get by without it!
I want to just share some music I really think could be included here, if you haven't heard:
Eddi Reader - formerly with Fairground Attraction, legendary Scottish singer whose Songs of Robert Burns changed the way people heard these songs and established her as living treasure in Scotland. Her new album Love is the Way is gaining raves in the UK. Myspace.com/eddireader - you can hear some samples.
Kate Rusby - probably Britain's most important young folk singer - Awkward Annie is her most recent album and astonishing since she writes most of the material herself. Chris Thile and Eddi Reader are both featured artists on the album. www.katerusby.com.
It would be wonderful to see them here in the US, but just getting them on the radio would be a start!
Thanks and keep up the awesome music!
Doug Smith
Hi Diane,
I'm listening to your show and was pleasantly surprised to hear our pal, Doug, doing "Anything Goes". I'll have to tell him he got some airtime when I see him next. Your voice sounds great on the air and your playlist rocks! Keep up the very good work, my friend! Tell the management they need to give you a raise.
;-)
Diane Hunt
This is Randy from Colorado, and I *loved* the show! Quirky mix of music is just right to start my day out right. Diane, when are you going to teach me how to contra dance?
Thank You
Dear Randy,
Yikes! Only today did I see your kind email from September 22 that you left on the KBOO website. I wasn't expecting any "fan mail" here at kboo.fm so I didn't thing to check...until a friend told me about the hundreds, nay, thousands of emails piling up at this website all about my show. Oddly enough, only one (yours) was positive. All the others said something to the effect of "what the *&^!%&# is SHE doing on this venerable radio station!"
That's ok.
I can take it.
So, Mr. Randy, you liked my quirky music? Hope you heard my show yesterday morning (October 27). It, too, was filled with a wide variety of, uh, good stuff. I'm on again on Monday, November 24th. I do hope you'll tune in. I'll play a randy tune, just for you.
I'm pretty big into contradancing, so I have made it my mission to play at least one contra tune each show. Next time you swing through P-Town, I'll give you a lesson. You won't ever be the same again...
Um, is this my friend who goes by the name of Randy in Colorado? You know, the Randy with the beautiful wife and the two red-headed kids? If so, thanks, my friend. If not, you, stranger Randy, have just finaigled yourself into the most elite fan club on Earth...
Warm regards,
Diane Hunt, DJ
