Station Schedule on the Way...

Categories:

Programmers may be noticing outdated information on the website regarding their programs.  One of the most commonly reported problems is when a show is listed as "currently unscheduled."  This is because the current date system can only report information on the current week.

Unfortunately, there have been delays in implementing a new schedule that will make our programming more automated and easier to use, both for hosts and listeners.  It will also allow hosts to publicize thier upcoming shows themselves.

In the meantime, please excuse out of date listings, as this process is very time-intensive.  Any volunteers who would like to help keep the current schedule more up-to-date please contact me.

New webstreams!

Categories:

Our new MP3 webstreams are now online!  We've been testing them out the past week and everything seems good so far, but we'd love for others to join in and give some feedback.  You can find the links on our "listen" page here: http://www.kboo.fm/listen.  The MP3 streams are compatible with iTunes so Mac users rejoice!

Uploading errors and slow connection speeds

Categories:

There have been recent reports of error messages when uploading audio and audio cutting off early during playback.  Some of these errors may be due to your own hardware or internet service perovider.  We are currently looking on our end to see if there are any malfunctions we can fix to improve performance.

Discussion forums and training materials now available

Categories:

The KBOO website now has discussion forums where volunteers and listeners can talk about the most pressing issues facing their show, the station, and community radio at large.  Materials are also available for you to download documents related to the many trainings that happen at the station.

To access these, you need to first log in to your user account (or create one if you don't have one yet).

To access the forums click on discussion forums on the sidebar.

To access the training materials, click on training materials on the sidebar.

Audio removed from program pages

Categories:

Recently, we had a temporary problem that caused audio files to be removed from the program pages where they are normally listed.  This was related to problems with the date field.

During this time, some of the audio files did not write the air date into the database.  This means that some files will be listed with no date.  You can fix this for the audio you have uploaded by going to the "edit" function for that audio page and entering in the date.

After a lapse in blog postings, I will using this again as a way to keep users up-to-date on any issues related to the website.

Please check here before reporting an error, as I will try to post reports as situations arise.

There's now a few easy ways to get involved with our website:

If you're a programmer or producer who would like training, there is now a sign-up sheet posted in the station lobby in the trainings section.  You can also email me with your name, phone number, and available times.  I'll be training people one-on-one mostly, so trainings will happen in the order people sign up.

If you would like to volunteer some of your time to help with our web efforts, there is a sign-up sheet posted in the station lobby in the volunteer section.  You can also email me with any specific elements you would like to help with and your any web or computer-related skills you have.  (Its okay if you don't have any!)  We are reforming a web group responsible for developing the website, training others, and improving our online presence.  You will be added to our email list where our next meeting will be announced.
