Theresa Weil is doing a project called "Because She Cares," paintings of leaders in the non profit world. She was our guest in July 1, 2014.

Joseph Gallivan interviews sculptor James Florschutz about his show Wedges +
On Tuesday December 16, 2014  at 11.30am Joseph Gallivan interviews the sculptor James Florschutz, who will talk about his show "Wedges Plus" at Augen Gallery. Florschutz works in wood making abstract and post minimal installations, which he frequently recycles. He will talk about the meaning of the wedge, simple tools and the relationship between craft and Art. Florschutz is trained in art, construction carpentry and finish carpentry, and has a studio in Old Town.
 
The show at Augen at the De Soto runs thorugh Dec 27, 2014.

On Tuesday November 25  at 11.30am Joseph Gallivan interviews the textile artist Rio Wrenn about her show "To The Core" which is on now at the Jupiter Hotel Gallery through January 20.  Wrenn uses the Japanese tie dye technique, using plants dyes and rust to make symmetrical marks on sheets of silk. She will talk about her studio methods, the concept of the core and the idea of energy flowing though living things.

Host Julie Bernard interviewed local artists Remedios Rapoport and Jacquelyn Bond about  Women’s Art: Women’s Vision at the Interstate Firehouse Cultural Center.  Celebrating the theme of 2008’s National Women’s History Month Remedios Rapoport takes the traditional Argentinean art of Filete (elaborate sign painting) and puts a contemporary message for empowerment and action into each piece. She will present her work, act as guest curator and mentor an emerging artist also working with women and political empowerment. Jacquelyn Bond is a young artist who paints water color illustrations and creates beautiful political pin ups.
